“Snoezelen in nature” - Prof. Dr. Krista Mertens and Katijana Harasic
We invite you to participate in the Practical Module Snoezelen which will be held on the
holiday island of Hvar in Croatia.
.You will be guided to experience the beauty of the island – you will look around and observe, take in the scents and taste, experience the clear cold waters and discover the wildlife. The small and trivial things you usually walk past will get a new meaning. You will have time to pause and discover new things. We will spend time in pinewoods, feel knobbly olive trees and make up stories. The scent of the lavender fields is mesmerising and awakens memories. We will collect aromatic mediterranean herbs and try the foods in the kitchen.
The clear and warm water of the Mediterranean Sea is a great experience. We will guide you to allow yourself to drift and dream. All the experiences will be underpinned by theoretical study. A balanced combination of experiencing and recognising in a beautiful setting will allow you to obtain new ideas for applying Snoezelen, not just outside but inside a Snoezelen room as well.
The Module “Snoezelen in nature” is suitable for Snoezelen enthusiasts with or without prior knowledge. The Module forms part of ISNA’s “International additional qualification Snoezelen”. The course will be run by Prof. Dr. Krista Mertens and Katijana Harasic. The seminar language will be German (English also possible)..
• About Hvar…
The island of Hvar lies in the Southern Adriatic Sea in Croatia and is known as one of the 10 most beautiful islands in the world. The wealth and complexity of historical epochs as well as cultural and natural monuments are world-famous and always worth a trip. You will find vast lavender fields, ancient olive trees and vineyards, all adding to the display of harmony between people and nature.
• Our program...
The theoretical and practical units of the practical module will take place Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday you will have the opportunity to participate in a wonderful trip. We will be travelling by minibus and our own chauffeur via Split (UNESCO World Heritage Site) to the Plitvice Lakes. The National Park was granted UNESCO World Heritage status in 1979 (and was location of the film “Winnetou”). We will stay there overnight and depending on request, return to Hvar on Thursday. You also have the option to return home from Hvar or Split.
• Accommodation Studios for 2 people....
Our accommodation is located in a picturesque, quiet bay of Basina and Mudri Dulac. In just a few minutes on foot you will be by the sea. You will be accommodated in a 2-people-studio, equipped with kitchenette, Bathroom and living room.
We will have our own chef, who is looking forward to spoil you with regional culinary delights. The menu will be discussed with the group and your preferences taken into account as far as possible. Fresh breakfast, a light lunch, afternoon coffee and (mostly homemade) cakes are all part of the package. In Croatia, dinner is the most important meal of the day; often the close vicinity to the sea lends itself to barbequing fresh fish and meat outside.

• Journey…
Hvar is reached by ferry from Split, the town on the Croatian mainland. There are several ferries from Split to Hvar every day.
It is possible to fly to Split at reasonable prices (book early!). Here are some of the airlines:

• Flights start from 200.- Euro

The price for our combination of training and holiday
„Snoezelen on the holiday island of Hvar in Croatia from the 23rd to the30th of June 2012“
is 1395.- Euro per Person
• Course fees Practical Module Snoezelen including ISNA Certificate
• Accommodation in a 2-people-studio
• Full board with own chef
• Trip to Plivice Lake National Park
• All transfers from/to bus station or airport
• Ferry cost Split-Hvar
It is possible for a person to come along on the trip but not take part in the Snoezelen Module. Please enquire via E-mail about the price for the trip without seminar.
Travel to Split is not included in the package as the costs vary depending on means of transport or travelling date. Our offer includes all services on location – including course fees – and the transfer from the station or airport Split with Ferry to Hvar.

We would like to point out, that the number of participants is limited to 12. A minimum number of 6 participants are required.
